They can last probably longer than the house, since this is natural stone. They are easy to seal, so almost no maintenance is required, other than normal cleaning.
Laminate
Laminate is one of the most widely available, and when it comes to countertop prices, it is the least expensive countertop option. It is the polymer that is glued on to plywood. If the front and the sides are faced with separate strips, it might create corner seams that are noticeable. But this type of countertop can also be edged with metal or wood.
Tile
Tile is another material that is widely available for countertops. But not all types of tile is appropriate for countertops. It is important to make sure that the hardness and density is the right type. There is going to be grout lines in between the tiles that connect each other. So it would be very important to maintain the grout and it’s best not to cut or do the cooking straight on the tile countertops. Glazed ceramic tile is in widely used option.
This type of tile is very easy to clean, but the grout between the tiles is still less durable and will require ceiling periodically. So laminate and tile are two very inexpensive options for kitchen countertops, but granite and quartz can outlast any of the above.
